Entertain the family and introduce your children to the magical world of theatre with a special production coming to Open Stage on Sunday 24th June at 11am.

We are very excited to be hosting this production by award-winning children's theatre company Munchkins and Monsters of The Reluctant Dragon, based on
the story by Kenneth Grahame (who also wrote
Wind in the Willows).

It's a multi-sensory, interactive production suitable for children aged two upwards and their families.

All about The Reluctant Dragon

Long ago, in a time that has almost been forgotten, in a land unlike anything that you are likely to find today, there was once a kingdom where not all dragons are bad and not all people are good.

Meet Assipattle, a young girl who believes in magic and dragons!  One day, her cruel and treacherous siblings hatch a horrid plan to banish her and take over the family farm for themselves.  Alone and afraid, she finds friendship from an unlikely companion. . . Neak the dragon!

Together the pair become the best of friends but when word of the dragon reaches the King, he sends his best knights to rid the land of the creature.  Will the knights succeed or will Neak and Assipattle be able to stop her siblings and convince the kingdom that there is more to the dragon than meets the eye?

Featuring playful puppetry, dance, songs and much more, The Reluctant Dragon invites you to a world of fantasy you'll never want to leave!
